YOUR CONTRIBUTION

Why this role matters

People deserve to know who is calling, why, and whether the conversation is relevant to them. This planned role would create a respectful first contact with property owners through channels and lists approved for lawful use. You would ask a few useful questions, explain the basic idea accurately, and offer a next step when someone wants one. Careful records and immediate respect for opt-outs would be central to the work. A declined conversation is a complete and acceptable outcome.

What you would own

  • Use only approved contact lists and channels after required consent, suppression, Do Not Call, timing, and other applicable checks are complete.
  • Identify yourself and Housealong.com accurately, explain the reason for contact, and check whether the person wishes to continue.
  • Ask concise discovery questions about a property's status and the owner's interest without probing for unnecessary sensitive information.
  • Describe the model using approved language and send questions about legal terms, financing, or property suitability to the appropriate reviewer.
  • Record contact outcomes, permission details, and requested next steps accurately; make opt-out instructions effective immediately through the approved process.
  • Arrange requested follow-ups, give the next person useful context, and report patterns that suggest a list, script, or outreach approach needs review.

What good work looks like

  • Contact records show that required calling and consent checks were completed before outreach.
  • Opt-out requests are accurately recorded and honored across the channels covered by the request.
  • Conversation reviews show clear identification, accurate explanations, active listening, and respect for a refusal.
  • Scheduled handoffs reflect genuine interest and include enough context to avoid making the owner repeat the first conversation.

What you would bring

  • Clear, respectful communication and the ability to listen without rushing to the next question.
  • Resilience that respects a person's right to decline or stop contact.
  • Accurate note-taking and comfort with CRM and calling tools.
  • Ability to follow detailed contact rules and recognize when permission is unclear.
  • Concise explanations and a natural, professional conversation style.

A CONVERSATION ABOUT THE WORK

An interested owner changes their mind.

FICTIONAL DISCUSSION EXERCISE

In this fictional role-play, a property owner initially asks how a lease option works, then says they are busy and do not want more calls. The sample CRM also contains an older request for information and no clear permission for text messages. Show how you would end the call, update the record, and handle a colleague's suggestion to send a quick text anyway. Then write the internal note another person would need to understand the outcome. We would discuss how you balance clear communication with contact preferences. The exercise uses a made-up contact and requires no actual calls or messages.

This is an example for discussion—not a request to contact a real customer or complete unpaid client work.

The boundaries that protect the work

  • Do not contact a suppressed number, override an opt-out, or assume that an old inquiry permits every channel or calling method.
  • Do not conceal your identity, manufacture urgency, imply an existing relationship, or pressure someone to continue.
  • Do not improvise legal, financial, mortgage, or credit-repair advice or promise that Housealong.com can solve a person's situation.
